The aged long saying: “When two elephants fight, the ground bears the burden” has been the scenario since the inception of the power tussle between our two most prominent political gladiators; Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye.
With severe pain in our hearts, we plead with all Kogi State indigenes both at home and in diaspora to be calm even with the various inconveniences this weird and unscrupulous power tussle has brought, while placing the State on the map for yet another National embarrassment.
On 27th August, 1991, when Kogi State was created, our great heroes who were the front runners for the creation would never have pictured such bizarre competition on power relevance in the State. This is definitely yielding nothing but making a mockery of the years of labours of our heroes past. Our guess, if they had pictured it, Kogi State would never have been created in the first place.
Although, both respected gladiators with majority of their supporters who are youths, have their good deeds and bad deeds, we youths under the umbrella of First Massive Literati (FML), Kogi State Chapter, are way past our boiling point and are now certain that such tussle, if not abruptly stopped, will yield an evil scar on our dear State and both gladiators who were declared to have been duly elected including all who served and is still serving under them that continue to instigate such tussle to make ends meet for themselves by playing the role of an evil wife to a husband, will be held responsible should our State hit rock bottom.
In conclusion, the message to all Kogi State indigenes (especially the youths) is thus; if you sell your right to politicians because of any unreasonable reason at all, you have successfully sold out your voice and conscience at the detriment of your yet to be born generation. Get your PVC and do the right thing.
