The Chairman Mopamuro Traditional Council, the Elulu of Mopa, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has called on Nigerians to be patient with the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu.
In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Julius Abel which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, the monarch said that President Tinubu need the support of Nigerians to be deliberately innovative in diversifying their economic efforts.
He congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Usman Ododo and all leaders that are products of Nigeria democracy.
“June 12, 1993 signifies a lot as Democracy Day in the history of Nigeria as it represents respect for the democratic, political and united will of the Nigerian people.
“As I pass undiluted compliments, will wishes and congratulations to Nigerians, home and abroad for 25years of uninterrupted Democratic Political System since 1999, the beginning of the ongoing 4th Republic. I also want to admonish Nigerians to cherish and uphold the democracy and unity we are enjoying, despite the challenges we share as a Nation.
“It is only in a democratic system we will find more strength, unity and development in our diversity as a nation. In other words, our voices as different tribes, ethnicity etc can only be heard in a strong democracy,” he said.
The Elulu of Mopa urged all stakeholders in governance and leadership at all levels to sacrificially and genuinely support the economic reforms of the present administration in the interest of the nation.
“I urge Nigerians to patient with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Economic Reforms. I assure you all that it is in the right direction, reshaping the economic foundations of Nigeria to be enduring for the long deserving and sustainable growth and development that Nigerians deserve.
“The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Economic Reforms also need the support of Nigerians to be deliberately innovative in diversifying their economic efforts. Nigerians are not lazy, they should therefore tap into thousands of economic opportunities around them as the government has opened up lots of incentives to support all kinds of economic innovations.
“As the Paramount Ruler of Mopa, I felicitate with Mopa People on this Democracy Day, I urge them to remain democratic, united and peaceful in all their endeavors in other to call for more development for our community.
