The Choice of Senator Atai Aidoko Ali of PDP
In preparation for 2019 general elections by Kogi easterners, having secured National Assembly tickets on various platform which include the ruling APC, the main opposition PDP and others like the ADC, SDP, APDA, Accord, LP, APGA along with other mushroom parties geared towards reinvigorating the political development of the people of Kogi state and Igala/Bassa race in particular
It is no longer news that the APC and its supporters went out of their ways to nominate a candidate from Dekina local government, as against the general  impression and expectations of the people of the area to step down by retaining the governorship slot of Kogi state, to fulfil all righteousness and the spirit behind rotational ideas agreed by the Kogi easterners, that comprises of old Idah, old Ankpa and old Dekina local government, the largest in the country.
The other candidates of other political  parties like APDA, ADC, LP, SDP and Accord have one way or the other had political alliances, inclinations and marriages with the ruling APC either by omission or commission or sheer political decisions to achieve their political goals.
The likes of Abdulrahman, Amade, Wahab, Victor, Alfa and Echocho all contributed greatly to the forceful alteration of the generally agreed zoning arrangement in the area that backfired into political logjam soon after the death of late Prince Abubakar Audu.
They used their political prowess and zeal to bulldoze the Alloma Prince into having another shot at the expense of old Dekina. The collusion removed Capt Idris Wada and brought us into the current political doldrums. Have they feigned commiseration that the people of Igala/Bassa and Dekina people have soon forgotten?
Are these set of people morally qualified to run for public office in Kogi East with the plight of our people in terms of social stratification, economic subjugation, bastardization and glaring denials they have subjected us?
With their sins not easily forgiven in our political emancipation, what will be the fate of an accomplice who is now paraded as the APC candidate and the anointed personae of Kogi governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello whose penchant to act against the Igala race is hyper active in all ramifications, politically and administratively. In fact, for the Igalas and Bassas, the fear of Yahaya Bello and his political cohorts, will be the beginning of our chequered and chartered political freedom.
Now as APC senatorial candidate and anointed script of the governor, another twist to it is to vote for Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho who after winning the senate will turn round to contest against the governor to return power to Dekina local government. How practicable and popular is that opinion as he is known for erratic political decisions and uncoordinated approach to issues that bordered on Kogi East.
With the ugly trend of leadership style of governor Yahaya Bello, Echocho told his close confidants in so many fora that he will do the worst to the Igala race when given the opportunities to ascend to the position of the governor. What is our offence? Are we responsible for his spiritual and other numerous innuendos surrounding his political adventure that he wants to take a pound of flesh from our pauperised people ?
To compound the whole scenario, it is a known fact that the current administration is bent on imposing Echocho, so that he will as a matter of pay back, work for the return of Yahaya Bello as governor of the state by November next year. God forbid! He will not smell the seat and by extension Kogi governor Yahaya Bello.
Since the Igala race became the target of the present leadership in the state, even while in the majority, we don’t need any political soothsayer or advocate to display our numerical strength and anger against the choice of the governor, not only the senatorial election but all, in the overall interest of the Igala people from the nine local government areas of Dekina, Bassa, Idah, Ankpa, Olamboro, Ibaji, Omala, Ofu and Igala-mela.
As a matter of decision, no Jupiter will allow stooges of Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello to ascend any political leadership at the State House of Assembly, Federal House of Representatives and on the whole, the Senate.
Dekina people will not venture into any unholy alliance that will deny its desire to return the seat of the governor to the area and as the largest local government, will support the main opposition party candidate, Senator Atai Aidoko Ali of PDP whose choice is better off, transparent, unbiased, non collusion and articulated ideas towards advancing the course of the people.
Aidoko’s choice is borne out of deep political calculations, exigency and preference to the desire of the people of Kogi east  to return him to the Senate.
Senator Atai Aidoko Ali is tested, trusted and a ranking senator of the federal republic whose overriding intentions and interventions is to better the lives of the people of Kogi East.
Aidoko and Echocho are two different political entities with the former highly versed in political and public participation against the latter’s miscalculated adventures, even though been distracted by litigations and other bitter experiences, but not deterred from providing legal frameworks, basic social amenities and enabling economic programs out of the myriads of the situation on ground.
In all the contestants to Kogi east senate, the intimidating credentials as a fourth timer and an expert in the area of legislation, will place Kogi east at vantage position for accelerated development and political independence.
He will rely on the existing templates of water for all through boreholes, provision of transformers to lighten up our environments, building of hospitals and clinics to improve the health care of our people, above all, sound economic and youth engagement in both medium, small and large scale business opportunities and self employment to turn the fortune of our people.
