The Chief Administrator of Dekina local government area of Kogi State, Honourable Kabiru Idris, inaugurated a task force on revenue generation and monitoring today in the council chamber.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Director of Local Government Administration, Mr. Okee said it has become necessary to set up the body to properly harness the revenue potentials of the Local Government.
Represented by his Special aAsistant on General Duties, Hon. Jimba Muhammed, the Administrator outlined the responsibilities of the body and admonished them to endeavour to work within the confines of their jurisdiction. The task force was charged with the responsibility of monitoring and evaluating revenue collection activities across the local government are, identify sources of revenue, ensure blockage of revenue leakages and strict use of approved receipts.
The task force will report their activities to the Administrator on a weekly basis.
Members of the task force includes, Alhaji Haruna Salifu, Chairman; Emmanuel Abu, Secretary; Mrs Rose Ademu, Mallam Yakubu Idris.
