Dekina-Bassa Reps Race: Idakwo Expresses Confidence in Kogi INEC

A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Candidate for Dekina / Bassa Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Sani Idakwo Philips has expressed confidence in the ability of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security sgencies in the State to conduct a free and free election. 

Idakwo said this at a press briefing after meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioner and the Commissioner of Police in Lokoja on Tuesday. 

“From my meeting today with the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner as well as the Commissioner of Police in the State and from their understanding of the situation on ground with the assurances they have given, I believe that both bodies are set to conduct a free and fair elections.

“Yes, there may be one or two allegations from other political parties suggesting compromise from the State INEC but from the meeting I had today and in view of the guideline for this election it would be very difficult for INEC themselves or anyone to rig the election in favour of any political party,” he said. 

Idakwo particularly expressed confidence in the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. James Apam who in a very short time have proven to be a man of integrity. 

He urged the electorate in the state to go out en mass and vote for Candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the coming general elections in the State.
