The member representing Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela/Odolu and Ofu at the House of Representatives, Hon. David Idris Zacharias has sent warm greetings to Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as he turns 56, August 3, 2019.
Honorable David Zacharias extend his felicitations to the National Assembly, Senator Omo-Agege’s friends and family, and political associates on the auspicious occasion, urging him to stay focused in pursuing the interest of the nation, and ensuring that his passion for helping the underprivileged in his constituency remains his priority as he adds another year to his age.
Zacharias in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Jeremiah Ocheme, salutes the Deputy Senate President’s courage and party loyalty, especially in his election as the first Senator from Delta State to emerge as Deputy Senate President at a time that the interest was high in the Red Chambers.
The statement added that much is expected of the lawmakers whose experience in public service is legendary, with a call on him to bring his new age to bear in the discharge of his duties to his constituents, fellow lawmakers and Nigerians at large.
The Idah federal lawmaker who was in the entourage of Sen. Omo-Agege in a constituency tour where the Deputy Senate President took his “thank you” message to his constituents in Delta, described the DSP as the man of the people.
“I am glad that at 56, you have achieved such remarkable feat in private practice as a lawyer and in public service. Your new age is a direct reflection of the impact you have made to society, the positive change you have made in governance, the development you have contributed to in your community, the experience you have acquired so far and mentorship the younger generation has enjoyed from you.”
He noted that the large number of people who welcomed the DSP and the ovation that greeted him in the places he visited shows that he is indeed a grassroots politician with wide acceptability by his people who cheerfully expressed their emotions towards him.
He urged the DSP to sustain the love he has for his people manifested in the grand reception accorded to him, noting that such gestures of love, humanity, simplicity, charity and living for the down trodden are ventures of good leader which should be emulated
Zacharias in the statement, prayed for longer life, good health of mind and body, wisdom and the capacity to show uncommon leadership as Sen. Omo-Agege serves his people and the nation at large.
