By Stephen Adeleye.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, the APC Kogi West Senatorial Candidate, on Sunday said the survival of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his crew members in the crash was a practical manifestation of the power of God.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Vice President and his crew members on Saturday survived an helicopter accident at Kabba in Kogi.
Adeyemi made the statement while addressing newmen at the sideline of a Thanksgiving service held for Osinbajo and his crew at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of Grace, Lokoja.
“It was very shocking and distressful but again we have every reason to thank God.
“We saw in practical terms the manifestation of power of God; they that trust in the Lord shall be as mouth Zion which cannot be removed but abides forever.
“It is a manifestation that with God all things are possible. We thank God that the vice president and his entourage survived the crash.
“What happened on Saturday would have consumed the lives of everybody that was there not just the occupants of the helicopter but including those of us that were around on ground to receive them.
“The helicopter landed on a vehicle. The propeller of the helicopter hit about two other vehicles which could have gone into flames and probably consumed every one of us that were there”, Adeyemi said.
According to him, immediately after the crash, we rushed there but the heat generated by the engine generated was so intense that we ran back; we could not stand the heat not to talk of the occupants.
“Simply put we saw the manifestation of the power of God and that with God nothing is impossible.
“It was God that helped us that they all came out unhurt.
“I think for every Nigerian especially those of us from Kogi, we have every reason to thank God and to celebrate it that we serve a living God,” Adeyemi said.
