Churches in Kogi state have been assured government’s readiness to ensure that churches that wish to observe cross-over services on December 31 can do so without hindrance.
The state chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop John Ibenu, gave the assurance in Lokoja on Wednesday.
The assurance is coming on the heels of widespread news that the Federal and some state governments have banned churches from conducting services to mark the end of the year owing to the outbreak of second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
But the State CAN Chairman said, “I have spoken with the government today, we shall observe our cross over services in our various Churches on 31st into 1st January.
“Let us keep the Nation and Kogi State in prayers and trust that no plague will come near our State and I wish you all a glorious extraordinary breakthrough 2021.”
