Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has declared a total lockdown in Kabba Bunu local government area of the state commencing from 12 midnight June 2nd.
Bello made this known at a press conference in Lokoja on Monday following the discovery of two cases of covid-19 in the area.
He stated that during the lockdown there will be no house to house movement within the local government area, while street movement are completely prohibited within the local government area for the period.
He assured that palliatives will be distributed house to house within the local government area, noting that the Kogi State incident management team will continue to thoroughly carry out the contact tracing.
He directed all security agencies in the state to ensure strict compliance of the lock down order.
He urged citizens and residents of the state to continue to adhere to the NCDC guidelines.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had on Wednesday stated that two persons from the state, the Chief Imam of Kabba land and his son, tested positive to the virus.
