A Christian couple has been advised to manage their home and nurture their love life to safeguard the sanctity of their marital vows and preserve the freshness of their union.
This counsel was given in Lokoja on Saturday by Rev. (Dr.) Kunle James Dukiya during the wedding ceremony of Engr. Adejoh Ali and Miss Patience Ojochenemi Attah at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church, Lokongoma, Lokoja.

According to Rev. Dukiya, marriage is akin to a child that requires nourishment through commitment, love, and sacrifice from both partners.
“Couples should learn to love each other and grow their love life. Nurture your marriage as you would a child. No one gives birth to a child and neglects them; you nourish the child to maturity to ensure growth and development. That is how you should approach marriage,” he said.
The parish priest further encouraged married couples to serve each other selflessly, emphasizing the importance of sacrifice, care, and agape love in marital relationships.

“You need to love each other selflessly. Be committed to one another and serve each other. Sacrificial love and steadfast care for one another are essential in building a strong marriage,” he advised.
While admonishing the newlyweds to exercise patience and forbearance during moments of misunderstanding, Rev. Dukiya underscored the need for the couple to view themselves as one flesh.
“Learn to tolerate each other. Forbearance is vital to keep your relationship strong. Forgive each other and avoid holding grudges,” he stated.
The two confluence lovebirds, Adejoh Rohi Alih and Patience Ojochenemi Attah both hail from Ofu Local Government Area and Igala Mela Local Government Area of Kogi state, respectively.
This is wishing them a lovely married life.
