Comrade Mercy Damilola Aiyenigba, a Student of Kogi State University, who emerged as the elected General Secretary of National Association of Okun Students (NAOS) in Convention held at Ayegunle Gbede in Ijumu Local Government, has dissociated herself from the purported kangaroo convention held at Charvid Hotel.
A statement by the General Secretary in Lokoja on Tuesday, said that she was never aware of any other convention taking place outside the genuine convention declared by the National President and the Senate President.
According to her, she paid directly into the Association account for her form, and the Elcom Secretary was on ground to preside over all electoral Processes and all due process was followed in the authentic convention held at the Model Primary School Ayegunle Gbede.
“I hereby wish to distance myself from the purported convention held at Charvid Hotel, Ayetoro Gbede against the genuine gathering in Model Primary School Ayegunle Gbede.
“I was never aware of any other convention taking place outside the genuine convention declared by the National President and the Senate President.
“I paid directly into the Association account for my form. The Elcom Secretary was on ground to preside over all electoral Processes and all due process was followed.
“I congratulate Comr. Abraham Jacob and Comr. Moses Toba, who emerged as the President and Senate President respectively.
“The time to restructure National Association of Okun Students(NAOS) and I’m very much glad to be part of the 2017/2018 EXCOS,” she said.
