Dear Senator Yakubu Oseni.

I send warm compliments of the season to you sir. I am one of your constituents from Kogi Central Senatorial District.

I want you to know that I am not happy that President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sign the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill into law.

I am also aware that the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in which you are privileged to represent the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District has the powers under the 1999 Constitution to override the assent of the President on a Bill.

I am also aware that the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment) Act 2000 was passed into law under a similar circumstance.

I am therefore calling on your good self to collaborate with your colleagues in the red chambers to ensure that the assent of the President is overridden and the Bill passed into law.

Thank you as I anticipate your positive stance on this issue which is geared at midwifing to success the long term efforts at taking our country to the path of credible elections.

Yours constituentially,

– Samuel Mathew (Tino) wrote from Kogi Central Senatorial District.
