The Igala people of Kogi state have called on President Muhammad Buhari to consider their sons and daughters for federal appointments.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, Chairman of the incorporated trustees of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) working committee, Comrade Enemona Emmanuel Omattah bemoaned the lack of federal presence in the area.
Omattah appealed to President Buhari to consider Igala land for infrastructural development as he makes great efforts to develop the nation.
“As the 9th largest ethnic group in Nigeria, it is worrisome that is no federal presence in Igala land.
“Our son, Prof. Armstrong Aduku Idachaba, the former Acting Director-General of NBC, was recently replaced after serving in acting capacity of a short time. We has expected that he would be confirmed as substantive head of the agency. We are not happy about this.
“We voted for Mr. President, we need his attention and presence in Igala land,” he said.
Omattah called on President Buhari to kindly take a working visit to Igala land.
