Not by circumstance, coincidence or a planned schedule have I had a one on one rapport with the person of Sen Aidoko but for his uncommon success and political machination strategies which has earned him translucent breakthroughs, I say-congratulations to him as he sets to resume office as senator representing the Igala/Bassa people once more. Of course victory can be very meaningful or measurable no matter how it comes and the best way to celebrate a victory which comes as a breaking news is to break the yolk of ill fated antecedents by a stewardship that will rejuvenate hopes, change lives(positively) and give way for greater accomplishments.
For the records, I expect that all those who are conversant with kogi east politics will agree with me that Sen Aidoko’s political successes often come at a time dusts are assumed to have settled. So, Sen Aidoko should fullfil the aspiration of the people by reflecting on how God has given him mandate over and over in such a way that are ordinarily supposed to be out of human resources, influence and ability. Infact, it is time for him to improve his image of “chop and go” syndrome. More so, the orientation of money settled it all and the idea of it must be only me in order that history will be kind to his chronicles.
This victory should rather teach Sen Aidoko the concept of repentance regardless of how things have gone for him in the past or how his years have gone by. He should earnestly concentrate efforts on understanding what his time and activities shall depict. Such that he will henceforth have a fathom meter on whether or not he is performing properly or performing in ways that will distract and destroy his possibility o greater ambitions. Not just by natural exorbitance but by human empowerment. Let this victory refresh him as there is no better way of showing gratitude to God than committing to goodness.
Whereas it is even very easy for him to say he is grateful to God, I pray he will take time to observe the relative ratio of those celebrating his return to those lamenting in the contrary. No doubt, this observation will guide him to a better second term if he truly deserves God providence as presently evident. May I quickly remind the Olamaboro origin senator that been rich is never everything. His previous dispensations are characterized with weak reputations and if he is wise in person as his ball game suggests, he should have through the electronic and social media discovered his real impression among the Igala/Bassa speaking kogi east people.
So, it is left for him to discourage and shun praise singers, yam peelers, blind idealists and die hard supporters from veiling his ills as what is paramount now is a sincere self rebranding. Thus, he must be courteous of his past so as to turn a new leaf. I should be very focused at changing the impression and allegation which has gone very viral of him seeing the electorates as hungry people whose problems can be solved from the money bag in his car boots because great downfalls often have its recipe in the likeness of this sad doctrine.
By and large, a single political term is four years at maximum and close to two years is already gone out of the Nigerian eight national assembly. Therefore, Sen Aidoko must on resumption sit upright with a clear stance on whether he will be a preferred choice in the events of a fresh election. Having served in the house of representatives for eight years and about a second term at the Senate; governorship won’t truly be a bad idea for consideration but, can his antecedents guarantee him that? Whether yes or no! The time is never late to do the right thing and I hope the returning senator is politically repented.
Finally, as highlighted here above-news in national dailies suggests that certificate of return shall be withdrawn from Sen Alfa while Sen Aidoko will be issued a fresh one ahead of a subsequent oath of office taking when Senate resumes from recess on January 10th 2017. So, I wish to congratulate Sen Aidoko on this victory and passionately appeal to him that he makes the Igala/Bassa people proud as he sets to resume sway at the Nigerian Senate.
God Bless Igala/Bassa Land!
God Bless Kogi State of Nigeria!!
God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
