DECLARATION LETTER FOR THE OFFICE OF NANS PRESIDENT
To the Esteemed Stakeholders, Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Fellow Nigerian Students, and the General Student Community,
I am writing to formally declare my candidacy for the esteemed office of the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). With a profound sense of duty, and driven by my commitment to the Nigerian student community, I seek your trust and support to lead our great association. My vision is anchored on three central mandates: Transparency, Campus Inclusivity, and Student-Centric Activities.
My Journey So Far: A Foundation of Service
My dedication to the student movement has been unwavering, as demonstrated by my previous and current contributions. I served as the National Publicity Secretary of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), where I worked tirelessly to ensure that our union’s activities, achievements, and challenges were communicated effectively to every student. In my current capacity as the Secretary General of NAPS, I have continued to advocate for the rights, welfare, and empowerment of Polytechnic students across Nigeria, ensuring that their voices are heard at the national level.
These roles have provided me with a deep understanding of the issues that students face, as well as the leadership skills required to navigate the complexities of student advocacy. I have learned that strong leadership must be rooted in principles, and it is these principles that I intend to bring to the office of the NANS President.
- Transparency
As NANS President, I will uphold the highest standards of transparency in all aspects of the union’s operations. My experience as the National Publicity Secretary taught me the importance of clear communication, accountability, and openness. Under my leadership, every decision, financial transaction, and initiative will be presented with honesty and clarity. I will establish systems that ensure regular and transparent updates on NANS’ activities, financial reports, and policy decisions, making it accessible to every student.
- Campus Inclusivity
My leadership journey has shown me that the strength of our student movement lies in unity and diversity. I believe that NANS must be a space where every student—regardless of institution, background, or course of study—feels included and valued. As NANS President, I will work towards creating an environment where all students, from universities to polytechnics, colleges of education, and other institutions, have equal representation and opportunities. I will promote dialogue and collaboration between various campuses to ensure that every student feels a part of our collective mission.
- Student-Centric Activities
Students remain the heart of our movement, and my administration will prioritize initiatives that directly benefit them. My experience as Secretary General of NAPS has equipped me with the skills to organize impactful student-centered programs, from skill acquisition workshops to leadership training, mental health support, and welfare projects. NANS under my leadership will focus on activities that empower students academically, professionally, and personally. I will ensure that every event, policy, and decision aligns with the needs and aspirations of our diverse student community.
A Call to Action
I am confident that with the experience I bring from my service to NAPS, we can build a NANS that truly represents the interests of every Nigerian student. I pledge to lead with integrity, commitment, and passion for our collective cause. Together, we can create a transparent, inclusive, and student-focused NANS—a union that stands for every student, everywhere.
I humbly ask for your support and trust as we embark on this journey together. Let us unite to build a better future for the Nigerian student community.
Together, We Stand Stronger!
