Comrade Edoka Emerges Leader, Forum of NYCN LG Coordinators in Kogi, Pledges to Promote Unity

The Olamaboro Local Government Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Daniel Edoka has emerges as the leader of local government Coordinators of the body in Kogi State

Comrade Daniel Edoka was elected on Tuesday in Lokoja at a special meeting of the Coordinators from the twenty one local government areas of the state.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Daniel Edoka assured of a purposeful leadership devoid of personal interests, aggrandizement or other acts that are not in the interest of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

He stated that there was need for collective ideas and unity of purpose and advised members on the need to chart a progressive course in order to move the organization to enviable position.

According to the leader, no group or society can progress in an atmosphere of acrimony, a reason he said everyone must contribute positively to strengthen the body.

“It is important we advise ourselves at this forum because we can only tell ourselves the truth and where there is no truth, then there is a problem. The leadership of the forum of Coordinators has emerged, we now owe it a responsibility to keep the train moving and speedily too. I am disposed to constructive criticisms, let us build the NYCN of our collective dreams” he stated.

Comrade Daniel.Edoka expressed appreciation to the coordinators for deeming him fit to lead again in such capacity and promised not to disappoint.

He however advised against what he described as pull him down syndrome, stressing that rather, they were free to offer useful advise that will help in actualization of their objectives.

The forum leader also thanked the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Monday Anyebe for creating the environment for the NYCN to thrive in Kogi State, described his commitment as heartwarming.

Others elected are Comrade Tayo Onimisi Omodaiye from Ogori/Magongo as Deputy Chairman; Felix Sunday, from Ijumu as Secretary; Comrade Yakubu Omuya Ahmed from Ajaokuta Treasurer; Comrade Shaibu Isah Danlami from Bassa as Public Relations Officer while Dauda Alhassan is to serve as Welfare Officer.
