The management of the Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba has re-considered her ‘No School Fees, No Exam’ policy that has generated so much tension in the institution and across the state.

In a memo signed by the Registrar, Dr. Abubakar, the school management stated that examination scripts of defaulting students will not be assessed by lecturers until financial obligations are met.

“After due consultation with relevant stakeholders, the University Management has reluctantly agreed to the plea to allow those who have not paid their school fees to write the first semester examinations 2017/2018 academic session.

“However, their scripts will be kept separately and will not be marked until there is confirmation from Bursary Department that they have paid their school fees.

“Furthermore, this category of students are to note that, they will not be registered for the Second Semester 2017/2018 academic session, until all outstanding fees are paid.

“Finally, let it be made clear to all concerned, that this will be the last time, that those who have not paid school fees, would be allowed to write examinations,” he said.

The earlier memo had gone viral on social media with students and well-meaning indigenes of the state calling on the school management to find a soft landing for the affected students.

According to a source, the time timely intervention of Governor Yahaya Bello influenced the decision to allow the students to sit for examinations.
