Obaro of Iyamoye, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Ibrahim Ade Momoh, Amuwajoye 1, has conferred the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, with the prestigious “Gbadegun” of Iyamoye traditional title for his unwavering commitment to the development of the community.
The event, which took place during Iyamoye cultural day celebrations, was a significant step to recognise intervention efforts of Otunba Braimoh towards the development of the community. Some areas the Guber candidate has intervened in the past include road repairs, street light fixing, payment of school fees and many others.
During the occasion, various people from the community took turns to praise Otunba Braimoh, enthusing that the Gbadegun title was the community’s own way of showing appreciation for ensuring that the plights of the community is ameliorated.
Braimoh, in his remarks, thanked Obaro of Iyamoye, HRM Oba Ibrahim Ade Momoh, Amuwajoye 1, for his thoughtfulness and praised the Monarch for his genuine love for his people. He recounted that his latest intervention in the community stemmed from a video he watched, where the people of Iyamoye community, including traditional leaders, resorted to self-help in order to make the road passable for residents.
Braimoh praised Iyamoye people for their resourcefulness, while promising his continued commitment to the development of the community. The AA Guber candidate prayed that by the next cultural day celebrations, he will be coming from Lugard House as Executive Governor of the State to felicitate with the people.
The cultural day was attended by dignitaries, who were serenaded with wonderful exhibition of the rich culture of Iyamoye.
