Voice of Mopamuro Youths (VOMY) is a pressure group that is apolitical and nongovernmental which focus on good governance and public scrutiny.
After long deliberations during our last meeting on Sunday, 30th of July, 2017 at Amuro Community Secondary School, Mopamuro, we decided to demand for the scorecard of all former and incumbent Public Office Holders representing/represented Mopamuro at all levels.
This agitation becomes necessary as it was observed that the impacts of those in public offices today wearing the ‘Mopamuro Tag’ are not well felt, as much as the impact of former public office holders were not felt too.
All sectors in Mopamuro needs the presence of both State and Federal Government. We have people appointed and elected to substantive portfolios, yet Mopamuro exists like she has no representatives at all levels.
Inasmuch we won’t dissipate energy on former Public Office Holders because little or nothing was done by them, we would transfer the energy on incumbent Public Office Holders as they have started the path of their predecessors.
Sons and Daughters of Mopamuro who are exalted Public Office Holders today by election and appointment are:
I. Member representing Mopamuro State Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Obaro Abayomi Sunday Pedro.
II. Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Bolanle Amupitan.
III. Director General, Media and Publicity to Kogi State Government, Hon. (Evang.) Femi Kingsley Fanwo.
IV. Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Youths Empowerment, Students and Sports Affairs, Hon. (Comr.) Moses Deola Eseyin.
V. Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Political Matters (West) Hon. Ishola David Sunday aka Taku.
VI. The Sole Administrator, Mopamuro Local Government, Hon. Moses David Sunday aka Alumo.
The above are the prominent ones in the cabinet of His Excellency Gov. (Alhaji) Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Let this serve as a reminder that you are first of all an indigent of Mopamuro before you are considered for the office you are occupying today. If there’s no Mopamuro, there will be no you, and you will not be there.
We are not unaware of the efforts by some of you, but in all sincerity your trial is not enough!
MOPAMURO NEEDS HELP!
Lack of water!
Dilapidated educational facilities!
Bad roads everywhere!
Erosion everywhere!
Poor electricity!
Poor health facilities!
Economic activities – Zero!
Zero empowerment to our Youths!
Voice of Mopamuro Youths (VOMY) is challenging you all to come together and think of the people first; give back to the people. Until you deliver tangible projects to ameliorate the suffering of our people, we won’t let you rest.
There are some facilities that has gone dysfunctional just because of lack of maintenance; if you love the people, identify such facilities and process it’s/their rehabilitations.
We have called the Government attention to the erosion from Ayamoho River and nothing is done till today; make it a priority and let us all consolidate the efforts of one another by sincerely pushing harder to achieve this goal together.
Today we cannot mention name(s) of former Public Office Holders for any tangible project, what will be said about you when you leave there tomorrow.
Voice of Mopamuro Youths is asking for your score card!
We are challenging you because we love you and we don’t want you to fail your generation.
We are challenging you because we don’t want you to be a setback to the Progressive New Direction Team.
What we are asking for is accountable relationship between Public Office Holders and the citizenry whom you represent.
In Voice of Mopamuro Youths, we won’t hesitate to give necessary encomium to any Public Office Holder who deem it fit by his/her performance, and do otherwise for the erring.
