…stop overheating the polity unnecessarily, time for election is over.
The attention of the umbrella youth organizations in Ankpa LGA, Coalition of Ankpa Youths (COAY), has been drawn to a very unusual, illegal, immature, evil, criminal and unjust event that happened in Ankpa LGA on Saturday, 26th March 2016, at the Council of Ulama fund raising program, where One Honorable Abdulmumini Ibrahim was fully impersonating the office of House of Assembly Member representing Ankpa 1 constituency.
This press conference has become necessary, in order to douse the tension, clear the air and warn all the political camps, political actors and supporters to desist from it and steer clear of trouble.
Honorable Abdulmumini Ibrahim arrived at the event and was ushered to his seat while the MC of the occasion, Alhaji Idrisu Ojoku addressed him as the member representing Ankpa 1 constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly. This is being dangerously spread and it is condemnable as it could trigger crisis which we the youths will suffer more of this.
Hon. Abdulmumini Ibrahim should understand that leadership comes from God. No matter the political interest and differences, if their major objective is for the betterment of Ankpa local government and not for personal gain, then he should accept it as fate, and move on. He must caution his camps, followers, political jobbers and elders, most especially, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje, who took the Microphone at that event to praise him as “their member representing Ankpa 1”
For record purpose and to once more remind those who don’t know, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed is the member representing Ankpa 1 constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly Lokoja. Anybody who impersonates him shall be arrested, charged to court, and jailed.
The stand of the law is very clear on such offenses;
The Nigerian criminal code act chapter 46, section 484 explains:
(1) A person commits the crime of criminal impersonation if he or she:
(a) Assumes a false identity and does an act in his or her assumed character with intent to gain a peculiarly benefit for himself, herself, or another or to deceive or harm another;
(b) Pretends to be a representative of some person or organization and does an act in his or her pretended capacity with the intent to gain a peculiarly benefit for himself, herself, or another and to deceive or harm another;
(c) Carries on any profession, business, or any other occupation without a license, certificate, or other authorization required by law; or
(d) Without the authorization or permission of another and with the intent to deceive or harm another:
(i) Obtains or records personal identification documents or personal identifying information; and
(ii) Accesses or attempts to access the financial resources of another through the use of a personal identification document or personal identifying information for the purpose of obtaining credit, money, goods, services, or any other thing of value.
A person found guilty of violating this section may, in addition to the penalties under this subsection, sentenced to 2 years imprisonment or a fine of 500,000 or both.
On this note, we are calling on Abdulmumini Ibrahim to sheath his sword. Politics is not a “Do-or-Die” affair. Desperation lead us to nowhere. Let’s come together to achieve our objectives as sons and daughters of Ankpa LGA.
We are also, as representatives and voice of the youths, therefore, warning all those who have planned to make our home consumed with hatred, evil plans that “Akpa’ne’, Ane’a’kpa. Whoever plans evil shall reap it in full. We will not hesitate to bring the person to face the full weight of the law if he/she engage in violent actions of any kind.
