Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has commended renowned climate advocate, Mr. Edidiong Etefia for his efforts promoting environmental sustainability.
Kankarofi gave the commendation when he received Etefia in Lokoja on Friday.
The visit was part of Mr. Etefia’s nationwide cycling tour aimed at raising awareness about climate change and promoting collective action.
During the visit, a symbolic tree planting ceremony was held, highlighting the Kogi State Police Command’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
The CP noted that the initiative aligns with the Nigeria Police Green Initiative, which seeks to integrate environmentally friendly innovations into policing operations.
“Mr. Etefia’s mission is to inspire communities to engage in climate action, promote sustainability, and foster partnerships to address environmental challenges.
“The Kogi State Police Command’s support for this initiative demonstrates its dedication to creating a safer and more sustainable environment. This collaboration is a positive step towards promoting environmental awareness and action in Nigeria,” he said.
