A recent report about a new CNG conversion and electric vehicle charging center in Kabba brought about a welcome sense of excitement and appreciation. The project was facilitated by the representative for the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. (Arch.) Salman Idris. However, this positive news was quickly followed by a strange claim from two individuals who alleged the project was facilitated by an anonymous person, attempting to discredit the honorable’s involvement.

This claim demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of how government and development projects function. Just a few months ago, Hon. Salman Idris facilitated the training of several local youths on CNG conversion technology. This training was not an isolated event; it was a deliberate and strategic step toward a larger vision, a vision that includes this new center.

Hon. Salman Idris has proven his commitment to impactful representation and bringing tangible benefits to his constituents. His focus is on delivering on the promises of his mandate, not on pandering to the demands of a few individuals. While some may resort to anonymous claims and subtle blackmail when their self-serving interests are not met, Hon. Salman Idris remains dedicated to the collective progress of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu. He will not be distracted by such mischief.

This focus on strategic development was recently highlighted by Mr. Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), who stated, “Your constituency is strategically located, and any intervention there will benefit a wide range of Nigerians. We look forward to building a strong relationship with you, and your support will be critical in addressing immediate and future challenges.”

As the agency in charge of implementing CNG conversion projects, NADDC’s assertion clearly shows the pivotal role of Hon. Salman Idris in the success of this project and not that of a phantom facilitator.

Two Years of Positive Impact

In just two years, Hon. Salman Idris has already made significant contributions to the Federal Constituency. His work demonstrates a clear and consistent focus on essential community needs.
Here are some of the key projects facilitated under his leadership in Kabba:

Infrastructure:

  • Repair of a 2 million naira transformer in Kabba.
  • Installation of a brand-new 500kVA transformer for the GRA Kabba community.
  • Construction of a 1km road on Korede Street.

Education:

Construction of a block of six classrooms in Okedayo.

Water and Sanitation:

  • Drilling of a borehole in Otu (nearing completion).
  • Completion of a borehole at Kogi State University, Kabba.
  • Repair of a borehole at the Okekoko ward maternity clinic.

Energy and Lighting:

Installation of over 150 solar streetlights throughout Kabba and its surrounding areas.

Community Development:

Facilitated various job opportunities for local indigenes.

Hon. Salman Idris’s track record speaks for itself. He is a committed leader who believes in collective effort and positive, tangible results for the people he serves. As he continues his work, more democracy dividends are expected to be unveiled across the constituency.

We feel the pains of rent seekers dazed and dazzled by the purposeful, responsive and responsible accomplishments of Hon (Arch) Salman Idris and pray they be delivered from the despicable spirit of mischief.
