The member representing Okene l State constituency at the Kogi State House Of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of the Christmas celebration to pray for a peaceful election in the state.
He said Christmas symbolises birth of a new dawn especially for the Christian faithfuls and should therefore not be used for just merry-making adding that it is another opportunity for fervent prayer for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
In a Christmas message signed by his Media Aide, Comrade Danfulani Lukman, the lawmaker noted that Kogi State has had her own share of ups and downs in her quest for growth and development, adding that Kogites must therefore be committed to peaceful electioneering conduct as the nation moves to a general election.
Lawi said: “The collective aspirations of Kogites is to advance from our low economic state to economic prosperity and political stability that will position us in our rightful place in the comity of states.”
He called on the political class to submit themselves to the values of fair play and avoid anything that could inflame passion and cause violence in the polity.
Lawi also charged the Christian faithfuls in the state to support Alh. Yahaya Bello and APC-led government and also come out en-mass to vote for all the candidates of All Progressive Congress (APC).
