Christmas; Engr. Abdulrazaq Felicitate With Christians, Calls for United Nigeria

As Christians in Ebiraland join their counterparts across the world to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad appeal to Christians to use this important moment of the birth of Jesus Christ to pray for the unity, peace and progress of Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria at large especially at this point where the country will soon engage in yet another electoral process.

While felicitating with the church on this auspicious moment, the Council Administrator reminded Christians that, peaceful co-existence, love for one another irrespective of religious and political believe, sincere forgiveness and absolute humility were the hallmark of Jesus gospels to the people.

He enjoined Christians to emulate such good virtues and translate them to their day to day dealings with people.

A statement signed by the Administrator’s Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Abdulmumin Abubakar, Hon. Abdulrazaq said: “I acknowledge and appreciate the positive contributions of the church in societal developments especially in the areas of education and care for the needy, orphans and widows, therefore, I want to reassure the Christian community that my administration will continue to identify with them in number of ways that will further consolidate the religious harmony currently experienced particularly in Ebiraland and the State”.

The Council Chairman assured the good people of Okene Local Government and indeed visitors to the ancient city of Okene to go about their legitimate businesses and celebrate the festive period without fear as government have put in place adequate security arrangements in and around Okene metropolis to protect them and usher in the new year in peace.

“On behalf of Government and people of Okene Local Government Area, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
