The significance of the celebration of Christmas  can only be realised if Nigerians eschew bitterness, display unsolicited love for one another and exhibit  forgiveness as a way of life.

Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor stated this in his Christmas message, called on Christians to use the period to re awake their interest in loving one another as a panacea for growth and development of the nation.

While fanfare, eating and drinking should not only be the order of the day, Awoniyi urged Christians to live a life of holiness and give to the less privilege in this period of yuletide.

The Deputy Governor appealed to Christians to intensify in their prayers for the nation in the coming year, pointing out that the flood that ravaged and devastated buildings and properties recently in the State was monumental, unplanned for, took the nation by surprise, called for prayers and sober reflection.

The Deputy Governor congratulated Christians for witnessing this year’s Christmas, prayed for the yuletide to bring joy, peace and blessings to the state, nation and the world in general.
