The Executive Chairman of Adavi LG, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has called on Christians to imbibe the virtues of love and unity as they celebrate this year’s Christmas celebration.
In a Christmas message signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Jamiu Habeeb, on Saturday, the council chairman congratulated Christians on commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ who came on earth to salvage mankind.
He urged people of the Christian faith to always replicate the love of Jesus Christ upon one another.
“For God so loved the world and gave His only begotten son. God Almighty loved us which made him gave His son to die for our sins, this we can see as the greatest sacrifice on earth, even if we cannot make such sacrifices for our neighbours, we should love each other and live together as one.
“I wish to kindly remind us that in Matthew 22 verse 39, God said ‘And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself’, therefore, love is not a necessity for mankind, it has been made compulsory on us upon creation.
“May this season brings joy and happiness to you and yours. It is my earnest prayers and sincere wish that you have a wonderful celebration,” he said.
