A civil society organization (CSO), Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR), has commended ongoing onslaught against terrorists across Kogi state.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday, the Executive Director of CHRCR, Comrade Idris Miliki Abdul, said the latest aerial and terrestrial assault on bandits in Kogi forests is encouraging and heartwarming.

He called for sustained security operations against criminals.

CHRCR commended the coordinating efforts of the office of the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police, the government and Governor of Kogi State.

The CSO called on all stakeholders to work collaboratively to confront all forms of security challenges in the country.

“Violence extremism as currently ongoing in Kogi state and on a national scale. There is need for more community resilience, cooperation and community approach in tackling this,” he said.

CHRCR called on President Bola Tinubu to approve the validated national policy framework on Preventing and Countering Violence Extremism (PCVE) in Nigeria so as to encourage states to decide and develop their own PCVE strategy.
