National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa has appealed to parents not to do anything that will affect children’s growth negatively so as to enable them realise their potentials in life.
Hajiya Baiwa made this disclosure in a message to secondary school students at the President Muhammad Buhari peace and oratorical contest held in Abuja to mark this year’s democracy day program.
Baiwa described children as God’s heritage who deserve robust upbringing and guidance while growing up in life.
She urged the children and parents to strife to live an exemplary life worthy of emulation, saying children who takes to the good conducts of parents and leaders will live a fulfilled life.
Mrs Baiwa commended efforts by the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari towards upbringing of children in the society. She also commended the complimentary roles of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the first lady.
The national women leader said the roles of children in the society cannot be over emphasised, particularly as leaders of tomorrow. She urged the children to shun violent traits and drug abuse while growing up.
