All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Chief Momoh Obaro, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of former Senator, Late Adai Abonyi Obaro, who passed on in the early hours of Tuesday.
In a statement on Wednesday, Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro, Secretary General, APC -UK, described the late Senator Abonyi as a patriot and distinguished statesman whose contributions to the growth and stability of democratic governance in Ebiraland and Nigeria remain unforgettable and deeply cherished.
He said, “The good people of Kogi Central are deeply saddened by Senator Abonyi’s sudden departure. His passing came as a shock, especially at a time when the Ebira nation would have greatly benefited from his wealth of wisdom, experience, and guidance as an elder statesman, visionary leader, and soft-line democrat.”
Reflecting on his legacy, Chief Obaro highlighted the sterling services the late Senator rendered to the people of Kogi Central District and the Nigerian nation, noting that his dedication to public service was unwavering and exemplary.
He added that Senator Abonyi was not only a politician of high repute but also a symbol of unity, courage, and integrity — a man who consistently placed the progress of his people above personal interest.
“He remained a true and committed leader until his last breath. His footprints in the political landscape of Kogi Central will continue to inspire generations. His leadership style, humility, and passion for community development stand as enduring testimonies of a life well spent,” he stated.
Chief Obaro further emphasized that the late Senator played a pivotal role in mentoring young leaders and promoting peaceful coexistence within and beyond the Ebira nation, adding that his death has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
“As we mourn this brilliant statesman, it is my heartfelt prayer that his family finds solace and comfort during this difficult time. May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen.”
