He first took the political stage like a whirlwind in 2002/2003 when he contested for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Kogi State. Though that early attempt to become the “Landlord of Lugard House” did not yield victory, it marked the beginning of a political journey defined by resilience, integrity, and service to humanity.

A Journey Rooted in Vision

Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro’s initial governorship bid represented the hope of power balance and equity within Kogi State’s political structure. Following that contest, he returned to his professional base at Wadata Plaza, the PDP National Secretariat, where he served as Director of Finance.

As Nigeria’s political landscape evolved, Obaro joined other progressives to form the Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD), which later merged with the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to birth the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) one of the foundations that eventually formed today’s All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chief Obaro’s politics has always been about people, not power. Through his consultative and inclusive style, he has touched countless lives across Kogi Central constructing boreholes for rural communities, empowering youth and women, and sponsoring WAEC/NECO registration fees for indigent students.

These quiet but impactful gestures have earned him deep respect among the people, establishing him as a man who leads not for personal gain but for community advancement.

Scholar, Professional, and Patriot

Despite his early education being disrupted by unforeseen, Chief Obaro showed remarkable determination. He completed his secondary education privately and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, an MBA, and an MSc in Software Engineering.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, his financial expertise and administrative discipline have shaped his outstanding record in both the public and private sectors.

Recognition Beyond Borders

Chief Obaro’s leadership capacity extends beyond Nigeria’s shores. His peers in the diaspora recently elected him Secretary General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) UK Chapter during the Congress held on June 29, 2024, in London. The new executive includes:

Chairman: Hon. Tunde Doherty

Deputy Chairman (North): Dr. Bonat Dauda

Deputy Chairman (South): Hon. Olumuyiwa Adesua

Secretary General: Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro

Financial Secretary: Hon. Bernard Doro (nominated as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu)

This recognition reflects his competence, loyalty, and continued relevance within the APC and Nigerian politics at large.

In every generation, a leader emerges whose qualities transcend boundaries and unite people under a common vision.

Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro has consistently proven himself to be a man of integrity, reliability, and balance — a person worthy of trust, a mediator in times of conflict, and a representative who carries the people’s voice with dignity. Unlike many who are limited by sentiments, he stands above divisions, embracing unity and collective progress.

His life journey speaks volumes. Academically, politically, socially, and emotionally, he has passed through the stages that refine character and strengthen leadership. His wide travels have broadened his horizon, exposing him to diverse cultures and ideas that now enrich his perspective and leadership style.

Youths, elders, and women across the Central Senatorial District will find joy and confidence in entrusting him with the responsibility of representing Ebira land at the national level. He has the charisma to inspire, the wisdom to guide, and the humility to listen.

At this defining moment, what our community needs is not just any leader, but a charismatic leader — one with the courage to unite, the compassion to uplift, and the vision to lead us toward a greater tomorrow.

Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro embodies all these qualities.

It is time to rally around him, to support his leadership, and to entrust him with the mandate to move Kogi Central forward in unity and progress. In him, we see not only a leader but also the hope and pride of our people.
