The Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere, has decisively shut down all attempts to diminish the senatorial status of Sen. Abubakar Ohere, declaring that once sworn into the Senate even for just three months, one remains a Senator by law, honour, and history.

According to him, any refusal to accord Ohere that recognition is nothing but jealousy, ill intent, and political mischief.

The respected cleric made this powerful statement during the 40th Fidau prayer of the late Senator Isa Abonyi Obaro, drawing wide applause as he reinforced the sanctity of earned mandate and respect for constituted authority.

Adding political weight to the moment, former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, showered glowing encomiums on Senator Ohere, extolling his character, loyalty, and political discipline, while offering prayers for Allah’s continued guidance and elevation in his journey.

In his trademark calm but firm disposition, Senator Ohere reaffirmed his unwavering and unalloyed loyalty to Yahaya Bello, openly declaring his total support for Bello’s 2027 Senate ambition. He charged his supporters to mobilise en masse, campaign vigorously, and deliver massive votes for the former governor.

The Senator also used the occasion to reiterate his full backing for the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing that Governor Ododo in particular has performed creditably across key sectors, justifying the call for sustained leadership.

According to Ohere, continuity, loyalty, and focused leadership remain the surest path to consolidating development, unity, and lasting progress in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
