“Carry Your Predecessors Along”, Smart Adeyemi Counsels Kogi New Speaker

Senator Smart Adeyemi has advised the newly elected Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Mathew Kolawole to carry his predecessors, Honourable Momoh Jimoh Lawal and Honourable Umar Imam, along in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the State House of Assembly.
Senator Smart gave the advice when the Speaker and four members of the State House of Assembly paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja residence.
He admonished the Speaker to always involve members of the assembly in all legislative matters irrespective of their political party divide or sentiments.
While commending the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his support towards resolving the crisis, the Senator maintained that dialogue is the foundation for the survival of democracy. He also expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Staff, Mr Edward Onoja for supporting the quick resolution of the crisis.
He urge the new speaker to respect and honour the two former speakers in the chamber.
He urged the Assembly members to support the new direction government of Governor Yahaya Bello as he is set to turn Kogi State around for good in no distance time.
While thanking the Senator for the laudable role he played to avert another round of crisis in the State House of Assembly, the new Speaker enjoined him to keep his door open to them as they will be needing his advice from time to time to enable them succeed. He promised to give the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello the necessary and maximum support for it to succeed.
Other members present during the courtesy visit include; member representing Ijumu state constituency, Honourable Adewale Omofaiye, who is the new Chief whip; Honourable Lawi ย AT Ahmed representing Okene 1, Honourable Musa Jimoh Omiata representing Yagba East and Honourable Oluwatoyin Lawal representing Yagba West.
