The wife of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Hajia Halima Wada has revealed that her husband, Capt. Idris Wada was the true winner of the 2015 governorship election in the state.
Mrs Wada, while speaking at a PDP women rally in Lokoja, alleged that powers-that-be stole and hijacked her husband’s mandate.
The former Kogi first lady, who maintained that the 2019 general election is between light and darkness, urged women in the state to come out and vote for the PDP presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
She stressed that women must protect their votes on election day, assuring that Atiku will get Nigeria working again.
“We all knew what happened in 2015. They used the power from the top to remove my husband from office. PDP won that election. Right now, Kogi State is in coma. Poverty is everywhere, hunger is prevalent, civil servants’ salaries are not paid regularly and there are no good health facilities. Bag of rice now is a hot cake. It wasn’t like this before.
“If we vote in our presidential candidate, bad governance will be removed from Kogi State. I know our women have decided as they can no longer bear the hardship under the APC led government,” she said.
Also speaking, Chief Mrs Esther Tunde Ogbeha, wife of the former Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, described a vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress as one which will spell doom for women in view of the untold hardship in the country.
Mrs Ogbeha, who could not hide her grieve over what she described as mismanagement of the country’s resources by the APC-led Federal and State governments. She lamented that many Nigerians have lost their jobs and loved ones in the last three and half years.
She stated that a vote for the PDP in both the Federal and State elections will restore the lost glory of the country.
“We are all aware of the hardship in the country under the present APC led Federal and State Government. It will be a disaster and spell more doom for women if we allow all this to continue. Obasanjo, Yar’adua, Jonathan all ruled this country, we never experience all this. Intimidation everywhere. The time has come for us to put an end to this,” she declared.
