Of the numerous challenges facing us as a people in Mopamuro, the above listed has been a thorn in our flesh instead of providing succour to us.
The reasons are not far fetched; it is simply due to the nonchalant attitude of our erstwhile and incumbent public/political office holders and/or government officials who deliver substandard projects in addition to lack of maintenance culture; when nepotism becomes a practice, inefficiency will abound.
BLACK OUT.
Orokore, Aiyede-Itedo, Takete-Itedo and Okagi have been in total blackout i.e. without electricity for over a year now due to a faulty transformer.
Several attempts to fix the faulty transformer has proved abortive, and the contribution of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) by the Local Government Administrator, Hon. Sunday Moses David yielded no result.
Despite the contribution of such amount, one is left to wonder and ponder on what must have happened to the money.
To our leaders who are living in comfort as a result of dividends accrue to them for representing us; all we are saying is, Orokore, Aiyede-Itedo, Takete-Itedo and Okagi deserves to be LIT-UP once again!
COLLAPSED BRIDGE.
SAVE OUR SOUL!
The bridge linking Aiyede and Itakete has collapsed for almost a year also. The greatest concern about this collapsed bridge is the danger it poses to the villagers plying it, apart from the cost of total reconstruction if it eventually collapse.
Renovating it now will save us lots of cost in terms of resources.
Hon. Kingsley Fanwo has once called the attention of the State Government to this, but the needed attention is yet to be accorded.
UNCOMPLETED OROKORE-AIYEDE-ITAKETE ROAD.
This road was once constructed from Itakete junction in Orokore to some parts of Aiyede; to the dismay of many, the condition of the road doesn’t look like it was once constructed in some parts, while the other parts of it that were tarred are now filled with potholes.
NOTE: It is on this same road that we have the collapsed Itakete bridge, if the needful is not done the road will be divided and unmotorable.
The leadership of the Local Government should please, render a substantial renovation to the Itakete bridge, to prevent it from total collapse which could lead to loss of lives and waste of scarce resources.
The State Government under the pragmatic leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bella should also consider the intensive rehabilitation and completion of the Orokore-Aiyede-Itakete road.
CONCLUSION.
It is sadly ironical that the government has once constructed and installed these projects for the benefit of the people, yet it becomes a thorn in our flesh again, owing to our nonchalant and lackadaisical attitudes.
