The CACOVID relief materials has once again shown to us how greedy our leaders can be.
Now, it has become crystal clear that our problems as a nation in recent years is beyond the incompetent leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. This became evidenced as a result of the fact that state governors, across party lines are comrades in corruption, rather than in progress and integrity.
It is funny but a fact to say we’ve been wasting our time asking for good roads, stable electricity supply, 21th century social and basic amenities when they, public officials, do not want to give us common INDOMIE.

One would wonder why state governors chose to subject the hunger scourged poor masses to untold hardship and further hunger by warehousing relief materials donated to her by kind hearted citizens and organizations to cushion the negative effect of the Covid-19 pandemic that necessitated total lockdown in various states across the federation when the whirlwind virus was at it peak.
The narrative began in Lagos when hungry turned angry Nigerians stormed the location where foods meant for the general populace was being housed by the state government. This trend was subsequently replicated in similar and different forms in other states of the federation.
Would one blame this people?- No, I wouldn’t. Simply because this state governors has no casus belli whatsoever to justify their actions and inactions in respect to the palliatives hoarded.
Fayemi’s Poison Claim
Gov. Kayode John Fayemi of Ekiti state, after having watched his hoarded palliatives carted away by it real owners, sought to instill feat in their hearts by wisely but foolishly claiming those foods were poisonous.
Why would you, Fayemi, warehouse poisonous food materials? Do you intend to harm some one or a group of persons with poisonous foods?
Kaduna Expired Drugs.
While the people of Kaduna replicated the Lagos incident in a different form, the people of the state who knew what they needed most, stormed a hospital in the city and made away with different drugs to treat their ailing selves.
Like the Ekiti government’s claim, Kaduna government called for quick return of these drugs taken from the hospital pharmaceutical store because they are expired drugs. The question to be answered is, why will an hospital store expired drugs in her pharmaceutical store?
Like we all know, Kogi and Kwara states are not to be left behind from the Katzenjammer unfolding in the country recently. After days of thorough searching, the location where the CACOVID relief material was hoarded and hidden was discovered and stormed by angry Kogites and Kwarans in Lokoja and Ilorin respectively. And the materials were legally ‘taken’ as against ‘looted’ being used by our various media outlets, by it real owners.
To defend their callous action of hoarding materials meant for the vulnerable in our society, the state governors claimed the materials were meant for flood victims while CACOVID stickers were visibly seen on the food materials.
The drama in Nigeria this became interesting as governor of Osun state issued an ultimatum of 72 hours to return all the materials taken from the state warehouse to the nearest Oba palace or face serious sanctions.
The youths also issued a 72 hours ultimatum for all past and present political leaders in the state to return all looted funds to the nearest CBN or leave the state.
Justifying Governors’ Actions.
In a bid to justify the governors’ thieving act, the Nigerian Governor’s Forum through her chairman, Uncle Fayemi, released a statement which attributed their hoarding act to the proverbial ‘saving for the drying season.’ That the materials were warehoused to prepare ahead of a possible second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
Above all, nemesis will catch up with those who through their actions, impoverish the poor masses.
