The Olu Bunu of Bunu land, HRM Oba Joseph Adebayo Ikusemoro has called for unity of purpose among his kinsmen at home and in diaspora as he believes and pray that the next governor of Kogi State will spring up from Bunu land.
The first class traditional ruler made this know in his palace today when he played host to the Bunu Development Association (BDA) national executive members and other traditional rulers in Bunu land.
The Olubunu of Bunu land used the occasion to call on the government at all levels to attend to the yearning of Bunu people and to do the needful in bringing government presence to Bunu land in term of schools, good roads, security post, health facilities and others.
He extended royal blessings to the recently elected BDA executive.
The National President of BDA, Pastor Kolawole Johnson, in his speech, expressed his heart felt gratitude to God and the good people of Bunu land for bringing the present executive on board.
He lamented the neglect that Bunu people have suffered in the time past which, according to him, is evident in the near to zero government presence across Bunu soil.
He promised that the new executive will do all within its capability, in tandem with the law, to bring the consciousness of the government of Kogi State and Nigeria to the neglect of Bunu Kingdom.
He admonished the royal fathers to support the association for the development of Bunu land, embrace the path of unity amongst self and their subjects so that the much desired development in Bunu land can be a collective struggle.
