The Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril, has sympathised with the people of Sarkin Noma, Felele and other part of his Lokoja-Kogi constituency over the flooding that displaced many and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
In a statement issued signed by Hon. Mabo Kasim on behalf of Buba and made available to journalists, the lawmaker called for immediate action from government to forestall future occurrence.
The statement read in part; “I sympathise with all the victims over the loss caused by the floods that ravaged their homes, farmlands, businesses and displaced many. “
He described the Sarkin Noma flooding as one too many and restated the urgent need for the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the causes of the flooding.
He assured the people of his constituency of his readiness to raise a motion on the floor of the House over the issue of erosion that is threatening the lives and properties of his constituents.
