Breaking Strongholds: Arising in Prayer and Faith Amid Global Crisis

Fear has swept across the globe, as the news delivers disheartening reports: tariffs, stock market declines, inflation, and the uncertainty that hangs heavy in the air. Nations are trembling, systems are failing, and people are losing hope. Families panic, individuals lose sleep, and the great question echoes: “What will we do if things get worse?” But I stand before you today with a firm declaration: God is not shaken. Heaven is not in crisis.

The Word of God reminds us: “When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3). The righteous rise and pray. In these perilous times, it is not the moment for the Church to retreat in fear. This is the time for the Church to rise in power, to declare the unshakable Kingdom of Heaven over the temporary and faltering systems of this world. As the world faces the tremors of economic collapse and moral decay, the children of God are called to stand firm, interceding in faith, trusting that the heavens still respond to the fervent prayers of the righteous.

The Bible is clear: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Fear, scarcity, and panic are strongholds designed to bind us, but through prayer, fasting, and spiritual warfare, we tear them down. It is not our human efforts, but the mighty power of God that will dismantle these forces. The economy of Heaven operates on principles of faith, prayer, and power—an economy that does not collapse under the weight of earthly crises. We must rise up in boldness and wage war in the Spirit, knowing that our prayers have the power to alter the course of nations and shape the destiny of future generations.

Consider the examples of Esther, Jehoshaphat, and Paul and Silas. Esther did not retreat in fear when her people faced annihilation; she called for prayer and fasting, and through divine intervention, God brought deliverance. Jehoshaphat did not rely on his generals when the enemy army encroached upon Judah; he called the nation to fast and pray, and God gave them victory. Paul and Silas, in prison and bound in chains, did not surrender to despair; they sang and prayed, and the prison doors opened by the miraculous power of God. Each of these examples teaches us a profound truth: in times of crisis, prayer and faith are the keys to breakthrough.

The hour has come for believers to rise in prayer and faith, for the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). This is not the time to bow to fear or panic. As the world trembles under the weight of uncertainty, the Church is called to arise in the strength of prayer and spiritual warfare. We are not subject to the world’s economy, but to the provision of Heaven. It is through persistent prayer, intercession, and spiritual authority that we bring about divine transformation and release the blessings of God over our lives, families, and nations.

In this hour, let us not shrink back. Let us stand in the gap, interceding for nations, economies, and the generations yet to come. Let us rise as one body in faith, united in prayer, and declare: “I am a curse breaker. In the name of Jesus, I secure and possess all open doors. I am a victor, not a victim. Where men are cast down, there is a lifting up.” As we rise in prayer and faith, we release God’s blessings and usher in divine lifting in every area of our lives. God is still in control. Let us arise and see Heaven move mightily on our behalf.
