A grassroot mobilization and campaign group, TAO Movement for Ododo, has described the defection of the former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal (Kennedy) from the People Democratic Party(PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the right step at the right time.
The campaign group said the former Speaker has “overstayed his welcome in the retrogressive party which couldn’t longer add value to his political career and that of his political associates.”
In a statement issued on Thursday, the campaign group commended Hon. Kennedy for his bold step, urging him to exercise his wealth of experience in politics and leadership which he is known for as he has become part of progressives political family.
TAO Movement for Ododo also stated that; “with the virtue of positions held by Hon. Lawal in the past and his leadership qualities which are part of the reasons the state party leaders find him worthy, they hope he will be able to use his influence to bring more prominent PDP members from within Kogi Central and other Senatorial Districts.
“We also want to use this medium to welcome the former Vice Chairman of Okene local government and hundreds of PDP chieftains that also decamped alongside with the former Kogi State Speaker yesterday.
“To our state leader, His Excellency Alh. Yayaya Bello, we honor and appreciate you for your open door policy, dedication, tolerance, and of course, all the efforts you’ve put in place to keep the ruling party waxing stronger under your watch. We hope to see the positive result and the outcome of it as we wish APC become victorious comes November 11th, 2023 governorship election in the state.”
