Body of Nigeria’s Auditors General Hail Ododo’s Financial Reforms

The Body of Federal and State Auditors General of Nigeria has applauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo , for initiating reforms that have strengthened public sector financial oversight and enhanced transparency in governance.

The commendation was given during the opening ceremony of a three-day North Central Zonal Training and Capacity Building Workshop for members of the forum, held in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Chairman of the Body, Sunday Omoniyi Adegoke, described the reforms introduced by the Governor as timely and strategic, noting that they reflect a deep commitment to accountability and effective financial management.

“The reforms are crucial to the credibility of public institutions and I commend the state government for setting a high standard for others to follow, “ he said.

Adegoke further pledged the body’s continued collaboration with the Kogi State Government to deepen audit effectiveness and sustain the momentum of reform.

Governor Ododo who represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous public sector improvement.

He encouraged auditors to embrace capacity development and uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

In his remarks, the Kogi State Auditor General and Treasurer of the body, Alhaji Yakubu Okala, explained that the workshop is imperative in empowering auditors with modern tools and techniques to enhance professional execellence.

He commended Governor Ododo for approving the Construction a state-of-the-art office complex for the Office of the Auditor General for State and Local Government, an achievement he said reflects the administration’s dedication to institutional growth and independence of auditors.

Participants from across the North Central zone expressed satisfaction with the quality of the workshop and praised Governor Ododo for positioning Kogi as a model of audit-driven governance and fiscal discipline.
