Blessing Ekele Bags Prestigious Award on Humanitarian Services

An upcoming philanthropist, Hon. Blessing  Ekele was honoured in the hall of fame of Igala Women of Substance Merit Award for her passion and genuineness in charity and empowerment.

She was bestowed with one of the prestigious awards of the much respected ‘Who Is Who in Igalaland’ group that focuses on achievements of womenfolks, especially of Igala extractions in Kogi state.

In an elaborate  event that took place at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja recently,  the organisers of the Igala Woman of Substance Merit Award stated that the 2018 edition is to encourage other privileged women  to emulate the good virtues of this lady and others whose activities have  been causing sensation and touching lives of people, positively in the society.

According to the Board of Trustees of ‘Who Is Who In Igalaland’, Hon. Blessing Aisha Ekele deserved the award from the group because of her philatrophic posture and her pet program, Liberal Female Empowerment and Development Foundation( LFEDF) that has empowered and developed the less privileged in the society.

Shedding more light,  Hilary Amodu, the spokesman of the group, said  “it’s  about her female empowerment and development. She  sponsor girls, to acquire education, skills and support them to own business or trading out fit of their own,  and established a care group for the elderly”, including taking care of orphans and other less privileged in the society.

In her citation, the ‘Who Is Who In Igalaland’ group said Liberal Female Empowerment and Development Foundation, established mainly to empower and develop female folks to be self reliance is presently taking care of about 120 children school fees, training some on skills,and sponsoring others in learning trades”.

In her remarks, Blessing Aisha Ekele  expressed her gratitude to the group and the success of the Igala Women of Substance Merit Award in this year edition, saying,  the award by this revered group will spur her to do more for the society.

Hon. Ekele who said she will expand her frontiers of assistance to the less privileged noted that her NGO is ready to collaborate with an individual or groups, organisations as well as state or federal ministries  to fight the scourge of gender related issues that is currently rampaging the society.

It could be recalled that Hon. Blessing Aisha Ekele who hailed from Olamaboro local government of kogi state, few months back, was coronated as the Magajia1 of Yakanajie kingdom in Nassarawa state for her service to humanity.

It was gathered that in this year edition of ‘Who is Who in Igalaland’ award, the former First Lady of Kogi state, Hajia Halima Ladi Wada, the state Commissioner of education, Rosemary Ojochenemi Osikoya and many other women who contributed to the  development of the less privileged in the society were honoured.
