The President of Biraidu Unity Foundation, a rural-focused non-governmental organization, Alhaji Idris Omeji, has reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to expanding its reach to more communities in Dekina Local Government Area in 2025 through strategic intervention programs and a range of humanitarian services.
Alhaji Omeji made this promise on Saturday in Abuja during an End-of-Year and Appreciation Dinner event, organized to thank members for their unwavering support and dedication to the foundation’s mission.
“We have gathered here to express our gratitude to all of you. There is no Biraidu Unity Foundation without your collective efforts. Your financial contributions and unity have been the backbone sustaining us. In 2025, we are determined to do more. We shall extend our outreach to more communities through medical missions, the provision of educational materials to schools, and economic empowerment initiatives,” he said.
While appreciating members for their steadfast commitment to the foundation’s mission, Alhaji Omeji emphasized that the foundation’s intervention activities have been entirely self-funded by its members, driven by their shared passion for the socio-economic development of Biraidu District.
“We have been engaged in humanitarian services for almost a decade, yet we have not received external funding. Every program we execute is sponsored by our members, which is a testament to their love for our community, Biraidu. However, I believe that in due time, God will open doors for sponsors to partner with us, enabling us to achieve even greater impact and reach more people,” he added.
The foundation’s Secretary, Mr. Abuh Omorogwu Joseph, also spoke at the event, underscoring the importance of maintaining unity among members as the driving force behind the foundation’s achievements and future objectives.
“We must keep our unity alive. It has brought us this far, and it will take us even further. I urge everyone not to grow weary in this noble cause. God will surely reward our service to humanity,” he stated.
An invited guest and a proud son of Biraidu District, Mr. Yakubu Idris, popularly known as Thunder, expressed his admiration for the members of the foundation. He lauded their selflessness and unity, which have enabled them to achieve significant milestones despite relying solely on self-sponsorship.
“I am delighted to see the remarkable unity among you. You have set aside pride and ego to grow this foundation to its current level. Hearing about your achievements inspires me further. You are all respected individuals in your respective fields, yet you come together with humility to serve your community. I am proud to be associated with this foundation,” he remarked.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the event, Mr. Okpanachi Ahmadu, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the foundation for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of organizing the event. He pledged his readiness to take on more responsibilities when called upon.
Biraidu Unity Foundation is a non-governmental organization with membership spanning various villages and communities within the Biraidu District of Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State. The foundation is committed to advancing the social welfare of the people through medical outreach programs, educational interventions, and economic empowerment initiatives.
