Former Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 election, Dr Omede Idris, has urged team members and supporters of Leke/Omede Movement in Kogi East to be patient as the eleventh hour for party realignment approaches.
In a statement on Sunday, Dr Omede Idris, who was running mate to Hon Leke Abejide in 2023 governorship election, called on ADC members and supporters in Kogi East senatorial district to remain patient, steadfast and confident in their principals.
He alluded to the interests and regular inquiries they have embarked on and plausible reasons advanced for everyone to stay on and be patient. He emphasized, however, that the eleventh hour for realignment of this support base to the ruling party in the state and national is almost year.

He called on them not to shiver or be dissuaded by anyone for any reason.
Dr Omede, who once served as Commissioner of Health in Kogi state, praised their supporters, saying “their commitment, despite poor outing in the past is unprecedented.”
He recalled that the unalloyed representation Hon Leke Abejide has continued to render to his people and constituency irrespective of party lines or differences.
“This makes him admired and loved by lovers of democracy across the state including Kogi East. This is an attribute that will continue to manifest in whichever party we find ourselves and him in the not too distant future.
“Hon Abejide’s attention to welfare of the people in his Yagba federal Constituency, which he represents, addresses most classes of people – children, adolescent, the young and elderly, orphans and widows, traditional rulers, the clergy and the Alfa and imam.
“Hon Abejide indeed knows where it pinches, and he is up and out there proactively, actively and reactively to address people concerns, directly or through his dedicated, committed and hardworking team members.
“He is a strong force in the ADC faction that has adopted H.E, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for a second term and also to the ruling party, the APC.
“Whichever way Hon Leke Abejide goes, there is no alternative to his winning an election, Inshallah. Those of us, in his team from Kogi East, made up of the 9 LGAs and a good number of the supporters of Leke/Omede team are putting finishing touches to our eventual destination along with Hon Leke Abejide,” he said.
Dr. Omede, a former National President, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) and former National President Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), appealed to their supporters in Kogi East to remain steadfast and committed ahead of the eventual realignment.
“The dice is almost cast. Hon Leke Abejide is marketable brand and a good product that understand and knows the tenets of responsibilities bestowed on an elected person. We are set and ready to move together with him to the progressives.”
