Banks, markets and shops in Okene town and environs were yesterday shut in protest over the bombing of a community radio station, Tao FM, in the area.
The community radio station located in Kuroko area of Adavi Local Government Area was on Monday night bombed by unknown gunmen. Five people were reportedly killed in the incident.
It was also gathered that commercial motorcycles operating in the area also withdrew their services, just as many residents remained in doors.

Chairman of Ebira Traders Association, Mallam Abubakar Gomina, said the action was to register their anger over the bombing of the community radio station and insecurity of lives and property in the area.
He said the community radio station has been very helpful in terms of enlightenment and wondered why it should be attacked. He called on security operatives to work harder.
