Attorney General Backs Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign, Seeks Broader Scope

The Kogi State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Muizudeen Abdullahi, SAN, has expressed strong interest in the anti-internet fraud campaign initiative.

Addressing the Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign team in his office on Tuesday, Barr. Muizdeen accepted the proposed areas of collaboration presented by the team.

He acknowledged the importance of early sensitization and the role of legal institutions in shaping public conduct.

He advised that the scope of the campaign should be widened to reach a broader segment of the population, noting that increased awareness remains key in addressing the issue.

He also assured the team of his support and readiness to provide assistance whenever required.

During the meeting, Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, presented a detailed briefing on the objectives of the campaign. He outlined the need for a coordinated response to the growing concerns around internet fraud and identified key areas where the Office of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Justice can provide support, particularly in legal guidance, policy alignment, and public awareness.

He explained that the visit was part of the team’s ongoing stakeholders’ engagement ahead of the official flag-off of the campaign.

In her remarks, Munirat Bint Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Entrepreneurship, expanded on the campaign’s scope and progress so far.

She spoke on the level of engagement already carried out with critical stakeholders across the state and emphasized the importance of inclusive participation as the campaign moves toward its formal launch.
