The commonwealth of nation is built on friendly relationship among it’s members countries guided by principles like sovereignty, equalities and non – interference.

The organization promotes cooperation in areas like democracy, human rights and sustainable development, even when a country may decides to exit due to disagreement with these principles or external pressure.

Diplomatic Efforts
The common wealth of nations encourage dialogue and mediation to resolve disputes helping countries navigate processes smoothly

Shared Values
Members countries share common values like democracy and human rights making it easier to mentain relationship even after exists

Economic Cooperation
The common wealth provides economic benefits and the existing countries my strive to engage in trade and investment with other members

Reality of members relationships

The existing relationship among nations of the common wealth can be complex which has implications for trade security and diplomatic ties.

Countries like South Africa, Pakistan and Fuji have left and later rejoined while other line Gambia and Zimbabwe have withdrawn due to disagreement.

In west Africa regional block’s the Sahel states comprising of Burkina Faso Mali and Niger Recently announced thier withdrawers from Economic community of west African states – ECOWAS reducing the block’s membership from 15 to 12

This may have significant implications for regional stabilities ,economic ties and humanitarian efforts

Expected implications

Distruption of trade and economic integration affecting the free movements of people and goods and potentially destabilizing economic relations

Security concern
Insufficient support from ECOWAS in combating insurgency and terrorism this has been sited as the reasons for the withdrawal leading to a raising concern about regional security

We observed shift in the balance of influence in the region, potentially favouring emergent powers with less western influence

Humanitarian efforts
The withdrawal may impact humanitarian and social aspects including the residency status of citizens from these countries in other ECOWAS nations

The ECOWAS parliaments is assessing the impact of this withdrawals and are working towards the block’s role as a stabilizing force in west Africa
