Last Wednesday, 17th May, 2023, Engr Musa Wada celebrated his birthday. It can’t exactly be remembered the last time Musa Wada, in spite of his verve and vivacity, was associated with a lavish and memorable birthday. A big surprise!
Musa is one man whose activities never passed unnoticed let alone easily forgotten. But it appears birthday for him is not such an activity. Generally, birthday whether hugely celebrated, quietly marked or ignored altogether gives us the picture of life. As often said, it means a different thing to a different people.
Among other things, this day is fascinating and very relevant to contemporary socio-political conditions in Kogi state, the home of the yet to be enthroned Messiah of Kogi state because it reminds of the day a man who has what it takes to lead Kogi state in its strides of majesty was born. On this very day was born a man whose life in it’s entirety reflects a largeness of vision beyond conventional leadership and represents the Kogi dream.
A celebration on this day for Engr. Musa Wada as an individual and for many Kogites with a clean, objective mind devoid of prejudice or rancour is certainly not our of place given where providence has placed him and his role and impact to the evolution of Kogi state in the prevailing schemes of affairs.
Generally, a birthday is indeed a special moment for the one whose birthday it is and for all those with whom his oath has crossed in the ordinary business of life. An occasion for reflection, evaluation and resolution, birthday provides us an opportunity to access weather our aspirations, our purpose in life and dreams are being achieved, what impacts we have been able to make on the rest of society as well as set goals for the future. Above all, birthdays helps us put our life’s in perspectives and judge whether we live life in wanting recklessness or in obedience to term of the covenant with our creator.
Be that as it may, May 17th is a day among other things, in which nature has presented the Kogi political landscape and indeed the country with a phenomenon.
Engr. Musa Wada, from an effervescent childhood showed unmistakeable signs of leaderships and in deeds. In the last four decades, his life has been filled with achievements and political maturity that would render him unique being a manager of transcendental abilities to a man unmatched courage and a leader with unperishable impacts.
Engr. Musa Wada is certainly a man whose life carries a pact with the destiny of our society. He has won for himself a worthy mention for his elegant sense of humility and concern for the status of Kogi state in the committee of states.
As far as Kogi state’s development is concern, Musa Wada has been weighed in the balance and found adequate and therefore wanted to drive the state to its manifest destiny.
While it would be foolhardy to say that Engr. Musa Wada alone holds the key to Kogi greatness, a sense of history guides our convictions that the true measure of service that he is rendering the people is yet unrealized he be allowed to exert his potential to the fullest.
History leaves no one in doubt as to the fact that Engr. Musa Wada’s passion, dreams and astuteness are required for the nourishment and preservation of the essential uniqueness of Kogi state in terms of strategic location and resource endowments.
In the matter of Kogi state development, Engr. Musa Wada is demonstrably a sunshine patriot and an achiever who is always ready to stand for a long time in toil and dedication to the cause.
He has not yet achieved his political prospects of leading Kogi state as governor but as he lives on by the grace of God, he is willing and able to complete the job Ney he has started-leading Kogi state as governor to the promise land.
Whether this day is celebrated with a banquet or with a beep, this 17th of May birthday of Engr Musa Wada is a memento to the fact that our expected political Messiah no matter how long it takes to achieve this dream would certainly be victorious to lead our state to glory.
And that is why the occasion of his birthday this year calls for sober reflections on the life of the man as a friend or foes, a compatriot and leader, in victory and in defeat and its impacts on the future of Kogi state.
On this birthday the picture of Engr. Musa Wada that comes to mind is of a great man and a good man. A Scion of hope, propriety, and progress waiting for an opportunity to finalize a pact with the confluence state.
A remarkable attribute of Engr Musa Wada as a man and politician is his persistence and of course resilience that greatness comes with responsibility.
One cannot rise in many as a leader without being involved in it’s problems and also convulsed by its agonies and inspired by it’s causes.
Engr Musa Wada has been weighed and found adequate in all of this.
Oh all amiable citizen of Kogi state behold your political gift as he celebrates his birthday. Let us all rise up to celebrate this day with our leader.
