  • Hail troops and pledge continual support.

The federal lawmaker representing Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, Hon. (Engr.) Joseph Asuku Bello has hailed the patriotism of Nigerian armed forces who fought for the nation, and those in the line of duty for keeping Nigeria save from different terrorist and preserving it for the future generation.

Every 15th of January has been a day set aside to honour the Nigeria Army who fought for the nation, and the fallen heroes who died in the line of duty for the surrender of Biafran troops to the Federal troops back in the year 1970 thus bringing to end the Nigerian Civil War.

Speaking on the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Federal lawmaker said, “the labour of our heroes will never be in vain”.

Hon. Asuku also emphasized that, “as the nation makes the remembrance day this year, one thing remains the crux- the welfare and protection of soldiers and men who are at the forefront in the war against insurgency in the North-east, herdsmen killings in the Middle-belt, Militancy in the South-south and other pockets of violences rocking the nation simultaneously, and the families left behind by the fallen soldiers.

“Let us look around us, let’s help a widow; let’s find a widower; let’s find an orphan of a fallen soldier; let us reach out to them.”

While emphasizing the need to support families of the fallen soldiers and their surviving counterparts, he prayed to God to continue to grant the families of the fallen heroes the fortitude to bear the loss, and strategically empower the Federal Government troops as they forge ahead.

“As a lawmaker, the House of Representatives under the leadership of Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila will continue to support the Nigeria Legion.
Once again, I extend the heartfelt condolences of the people of Adavi/ Okehi Federal Constituency to the families and the loved ones of the fallen heroes,” he concluded.
