The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Kogi State chapter has described yesterday’s Appeal Court rulings in favour of incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello as victory for democracy.

Reacting to the Appeal Court verdicts, the chairman of Kogi ALGON, Honourable Isa Taufiq, said the verdict which affirmed the governor’s emergence the second time is a pointer that the judiciary was the hope of the common man.

Taufiq, speaking through his media adviser, Abubakar Sule Hussaini, said the judgement has finally put to rest condemnation and aspersions being cast against the emergence of the governor, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Independent NAtional Electoral Commission, INEC.

“God’s will and purpose for the people of Kogi State was demonstrated and announced by the tribunal and now the Appeal Court. It will be difficult for anybody to upturn it. With this victory, our governor can now settle down to work for the people of Kogi State”, Taufiq said.

According to him, the victory of Governor Bello is divine and all Kogi people should accept it and join hands with him to move Kogi forward.
