Appeal Court Judgement: ‘Recall Project’ is Dead and Buried – APC Scribe

The publicity secretary of Ijumu chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Gbenga Bright, has dismissed the Appeal Court ruling dismissing Senator Dino Melaye’s appeal seeking to stop INEC from proceeding with the recall process that started last year.

 

In a press release, the APC scribe said the attempt to recall Melaye is dead, both in process and exercise.

 

He called on party members and supporters of Senator Dino Melaye to remain calm as there is no cause for alarm.

 

“The All Progressive Congress wish to assure the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District, genuine party loyalists, leaders at all levels and supporters not to be perturbed by the Appeal Court judgement. We sincerely wish to appeal to all our supporters particularly, the good people of Kogi west who freely voted for distinguished Senator Dino Melaye in 2016 to be calm as there is no cause for worry.
“The recall in its entirety is a waste, useless and dead both in content and exercise.
“We sincerely appreciate everyone for the show of love and the inestimable support to our revered leader and the best Senator of the year 2016 and 2017 respectively.
“As a law abiding citizens and loyal party members, we urge you all to remain steadfast as the imagination of the disgruntled recall elements shall never manifest.
“We have toed the line of diligence, constitutionalism and rule of law as a responsible law abiding party and we shall not be distracted
“We assure you that those who have not offered Kogi State anything aside pains, hunger, unprecedented poverty and non payment of salaries and pension can not recall the most performing senator in the history of Kogi west.
“Politics is all about the people, we therefore urge everyone not be distracted by the senseless antics of the few failed opportunists inside Kogi Government House, Lokoja. APC and all organs of the party in the state wish to state that we are fully in support of our leader. Our unreserved loyalty and support for distinguished Senator Dino Melaye is intact and unshaken,” he said.
